City Kitchen is the result of long-time restaurateur Chick Taylor and his desire to bring excellent seafood, steaks and hearth-fired pizzas close to home. He envisioned a neighborhood eatery that serves unique, quality fare in an upscale, yet casual setting.
That vision became a reality when City Kitchen opened its doors in May 2006, after Taylor spent months handcrafting the restaurant’s distinct interior. Featuring a wood-burning pizza oven, open-air kitchen, leather-upholstered booths, oak plank tables and a zinc-topped bar often filled with diners, City Kitchen’s ambiance was unlike any other gastronomic establishment Grosse Pointe residents had experienced.
Taylor brings more than two decades of culinary experience to City Kitchen’s restaurant, carry-out market, and in- and off-site catering operations. One can see this vast knowledge reflected within each of City Kitchen’s dishes. Come in and enjoy such delicious seafood favorites as pecan encrusted pickerel, fire roasted Eastern halibut, grilled Atlantic salmon, flounder stuffed with crabmeat, pan-seared sea scallops and sautéed, skinless perch. From the grill, try a 14 oz. “Certified Angus” New York strip steak, baby back ribs and much more. Also enjoy seasonal salads, desserts and appetizers, including smoked salmon “sandwich, rare-seared tuna with edamame and tomato relish, bacon-wrapped tenderloin medallions and flash fried calamari. All menu items are available for carry-out.
Join us for a special evening or casual get-together with friends. At City Kitchen, you can have it all… and more!
City Kitchen is a 100% Smoke-Free environment.
